- Designed 1997
- First prototype built at the same time
- Used as a building project at MIA ( Musical Instrument Academy of Norway) to introduce students to guitar-construction
- Designed to sound and look , and actually be a quality musical instrument
- Guitars built by students ( “prototypes” ),using different combinations of wood has been given (as gifts) to various well known guitarists as well as different people in the music industry – giving rewarding feedback
- The designers ears have decided that from all this different combinations of woods , the one combining a solid mahogany body /neck with a maple fretboard sounds the best
- The G#-guitar has been on display at several trade fairs / music shows around the world , resulting in an increasing demand for the guitar to being mass produced in the purpose of commercial sales
- During autumn 04 ,Ø F made contact with Morgan Instruments Norway to try to establish an opening for a Far East production of the guitar
- As a result , the very first prototype of the G# ( mahogany body / neck , maple fretboard ) ,as well as technical drawings , was sent to the Far East
- The scale-length was changed from 500 to 530 millimeters to improve playing-comfort
- After recieving different pictures from the factory ,showing different stages of production /production methods ,the time had come to recieve the first factory- made prototype
- This prototype very much resembled the original 1997 prototype , however, some changes had to be done
- One thing , though , was absolutely perfect : The single-coil pick-up ! The factory had managed to come up with the most perfect sounding device!
- Finally , after severe communications , the first production run of 24 guitars was ordered
- Once they arrived, most of these 24 guitars were distributed to various guitarists for testing
- The response among these guitarists was overvehlming
- More guitars are ordered from the factory ,and by the end of December 05, they`re available through dealers worldwide
- To be able to meet the growing demand for the G#, investors were invited during the autumn of 2006
- As a result, with investors in place, a new company; the G Sharp Instruments A/S, was founded on January 1. 2007
- This will ensure constant supply of G# guitars in the future
